Technical Information

Description
Water-Jet Cutting is a technology which is capable of cutting all kinds of material over the world, from 0.1mm to 200mm thickness, regardless it is hard or soft, using water or water-abrasive mixture of a beam of 0.1mm to 1.1mm.
There are two basic types of Waterjet Cutting; cutting with pure water and cutting with abrasive.
Cutting with pure water: a method of cutting without any additive materials into the cutting water. Used for cutting relatively soft materials such as tyre, rubber, cloth, leather, thin plastic, foam, meat, fish, cakes, ice cream. Due to the use of small diameter nozzle, small or mid power pumps can be used with multi-head cutting.

Materials to be cut with pure water :
- Rubber and plastic products. .
- Wood and wood products.
- Materials for floor coverings.
- Sponge, polyurethane, foam.
- Cloth, Leather - textile products.
- Mats, carpet.
- Insulation materials.
- Gasket material
-Ice cream, cakes, fish, meat

Materials to be cut with pure water rates:
Material   Thickness (mm)  Cutting speed mm/ dk
Rubber 2 25.000
10 10.000
20 2.000
Plastic 2 20.000
  5 8.000
Polyurethane 10 3.000
Plastic 2 6.000
  5 2.000
PTFE , PVC 10 800
Plywood 2 3000

Cutting with abrasive : This is a method of cutting with water mixed with abrasive material (type of quarz named as garnet) prior to leaving the cutting head. Including very hard and thick layers, all the materials over the World, such as steel, glass, granite, marble, ceramics, titanium, aluminum, all non-ferrous metals, wood, plastic, can be cut with a jet of water and abrasive. Compared to pure water cutting greater nozzle diameter is to be used and usually medium and high power pumps are used with. The combinations of water and abrasive nozzle which is used for abrasive cutting are: 0,1 / 0,55 mm, 0,25 / 0,76 mm, 0,35 / 1,1 mm are used in more than 4000 bar pressure, exceptional measures are also available.

The materials to be cut by water and abrasive mixture: :
- Carbon and stainless steels.
- Titanium, tungsten alloy, all hard metals.
- Aluminum, copper, brass, lead, all soft metals.
- Carbon, Kevlar, rubber-coated metal, plywood.
- Marble, granite, ceramics.
- Bullet-proof laminated glass.
- All materials on world.

The advantages of waterjet technology:

- Thanks to a cold process, resulting from thermal reasons, combustion, droplet formation (melting), will not be problems such as strain hardening.
- Be cut by laser with different temperatures of burning or melting of material pairs, sandwich materials can be cut with waterjet.
- There is no burning or melting of material during the process, no chemical contamination does not occur. With this advantage, gas extraction, purification, filtration, such as do not require additional investment.
- Cutting a very narrow range of marks (max1, 1 mm) thanks to the material losses are minimized.
- Beam diameter of the waterjet cutting element, depending on the processing of very narrow and sharp corners (cut) is possible.
- Other methods, all materials be cut honeycomb-textured, can be cut with waterjet.
- Interruption section, the upper or lower side of the burr does not occur, so an additional grinding, corrective action is required.
- The risk of melting or burning due to lack of materials can be cut very thin.
- Cut with the same hardware without any changes, cutting rates by only a changemalzemeden other material is translated, so that, especially in areas of machinery and equipment for contract adjustment time would be completely eliminated.
- Materials with a relatively large tolerance between the cutting tip Thanks to the three-dimensional (volumetric) areas, distance control errors resulting from imperfections on the cutting does not occur.
